a few weeks ago i wrote about how we built the fastest regex engine in F#. that post ended up getting surprisingly big on hacker news, which was both exciting and a little terrifying - nothing like mass attention on your work to find all the things you forgot to mention. also learned that a lot of people have strong feelings about casual lowercase writing, on my own personal blog, mind you. but it also confirmed something i’d been hoping: people are genuinely interested in extended regex operators, and there’s real demand for an algorithm that can support them efficiently.
